Best Laptops for Mining Cryptocurrency in 2018

Mining cryptocurrency is more popular than ever. Here are some great laptops for mobile mining.
Traditionally crypto miners will be using specialized rigs or desktop PCs with powerful graphics cards. But they're not the only way, and thanks to recent advances in just what you can get in a laptop, there are now a bunch that also make good more mobile mining machines.
If you're looking for a good laptop to do some cryptocurrency mining with, you're going to be looking for some GPU horsepower.

Razer Blade Pro

Razer Blade Pro
The Razer Blade Pro redefined portable PC power by packing in more hardware to a slim, not overly heavy 17-inch laptop than you'd have previously thought imaginable.
From a mining perspective, there are two models of Blade Pro. The cheaper version has a 6GB NVIDIA GTX 1060 while the beastly range-topper has an 8GB GTX 1080. Pair that with quad-core, unlocked Core i7 processors, up to 32GB of RAM and optional RAID storage, the Blade Pro has it all.
For times you're not using it to mine, the Blade Pro also has a low-profile mechanical keyboard and either a 1080p non-touch or 4K touch display. Prices start at $2,000 for the GTX 1060 version, rising to about $4,000 for the more powerful model with the GTX 1080.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus

ASUS ROG Zephryus
Considering ASUS packed a GTX 1080 inside the Zephyrus, the price is actually very reasonable.
It's ridiculously slim and light for such a powerful laptop, in no small part thanks to NVIDIA's MaxQ technology. Part of the cost savings come from not including a 4K display, which is perfectly fine. Instead, you get an excellent 144Hz 1080p display with G-Sync.
As it's a 15.6-inch laptop, it's hard to find something this portable with this much power. The 8GB GTX 1080 will be of interest to miners, and it's paired with a six-core Intel Core i7-8750H, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD. For the times you want a great laptop that isn't for mining.
The latest refresh is available now for around $2,900, but the older model with a 7th-generation quad-core Intel Core i7 can still be had for about $400 less.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming

If you're looking for a great laptop with the power to get some mining done but have a tighter budget, the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming is a perfect choice.
Importantly the latest version pairs a 6GB NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU with the quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, so you're getting some stellar performance from this laptop for gaming, equally a decent output for mining.
As a 15.6-inch laptop it's also fairly portable, and best of all, it only costs from $1,000 to get one with that GTX 1060 GPU.

Aorus X9

Aorus X9
The Aorus X9 by Gigabyte is an utterly ridiculous laptop in all the best ways. If you can think of something you want, it has it. If you can still find the previous iteration, it's possible to get one with TWO GPUs.
As it stands the latest version of the X9 comes standard with one GPU, an 8GB NVIDIA GTX 1080 and the brand new six-core, unlocked Intel Core i9-8950HK processor. Toss in 32GB of RAM, up to a pair of 2TB Samsung 960 Pro SSDs and a 17.3-inch 144Hz 1080p display, the X9 is the definition of insane when it comes to laptops.
Don't expect to use it away from a power adapter, and expect to pay a price. For mining, the asking price of $3,900 and up perhaps isn't as big a deal as buying this for gaming, but assuming you'll get a good return, it's one amazing piece of portable PC.
